Non-EU citizens enrolled in full-time education at Hungarian universities or preparatory courses can apply for a residence permit for study purposes. To obtain the permit, applicants must have sufficient proficiency in English or German and provide a registered accommodation address in Hungary. The permit is valid for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years, with the possibility of extension. University students with a residence permit can work in Hungary to a limited extent while pursuing their studies.
